David
Parson was born in London in 1970 but has lived in Newquay, Cornwall
since he was four years old. He studied Graphic Design at the Falmouth
School of Art and Design and sold his first painting at the age of sixteen.
David's work incorporates
his love of landscapes together with an admiration of o1d cars, tractors
and steam engines to produce a nostalgic record for the discerning enthusiast.
He comes from an artistic
background in as much as his father, sister and brother-in-law are all
professional artists. In 1997 he entered a partnership with them and
opened BANK STREET GALLERY.
Owning his own gallery has
given David the opportunity to paint a series of "Fun paintings"
that are in complete contrast to his previous works. In order to keep
up with the demand for these brightly coloured paintings he has successfully
committed the 'Bee' series to postcard format and 'Washday', 'Storm
in a Teacup' and 'Diving Competition' to poster size prints that are
unique and exclusive to BANK STREET GALLERY.
PARTNERS: LES PARSON, MIKE
WOODS, DAVID ROBERT PARSON.
